By  |

Bastrop – Lee Harle is pleased to announce his candidacy for Bastrop City Council Place 3.  He is the owner of Bastrop River Company, a river recreation business founded in 2012.

Harle is an active volunteer in the community and has served on numerous boards and committees including: Bastrop Chamber of Commerce board of directors, Bastrop Parks & Open Spaces advisory board, Downtown Business Alliance steering committee, Main Street promotions committee, and Bastrop Comprehensive Plan steering committee.

“I am excited and ready to serve this community as a city council representative. Bastrop has a lot to offer both its residents and visitors. Our population is steadily increasing along with visitor traffic. Right now, we are facing unprecedented challenges that come with growth. Our town needs effective leadership to help navigate the changes while maintaining our quality of life. My intent is to bring discernment to place 3 on the City Council, to listen with an open mind to our citizen’s concerns and ideas, and to always pursue what is best for the entire city,” he said.

In 2013, Harle was selected to participate in the B.E.S.T. Leadership Program (Bastrop, Elgin, Smithville, Texas), a county wide leadership course focused on developing skilled, motivated, and effective leaders for Bastrop County.  Currently, he is the co-facilitator of the program.

Harle is a graduate of Texas Tech University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in finance and a Master’s degree in general business administration.
