Crosshairs Texas a ‘family’ business

By  |

At Crosshairs Texas the welcome mat is always out, and there’s a reason the new Bastrop gun store has a definite family atmosphere while serving all your needs. “We are not only family owned, but we embrace the family atmosphere in our store,” said owner/operator Troy Michalik. “My daughter Nikita (Glass), who works for a Bastrop law firm, assists in helping customers to obtain their NFA (National Firearms Act) trust,” added Devon, Troy’s wife.

Nikita, who is a Smithville High School 2007 graduate, is joined by her brother Daniel, a Bastrop High School 2006 graduate, who also helps out in the store. Daniel also has his own company – Michalik Electronics. “We are truly a hometown family of entrepreneurs,” Troy said with the proud smile of a dad.

And Crosshairs is growing as we speak. “Our inventory has grown tremendously. We have the most variety of ammo in the county,” Troy said. “And we’re more than just guns – we have optic accessories, cleaning supplies, holsters, concealed-carry purses and personal protection equipment.”

But for those mainly zeroed in on purchasing a superb gun, Crosshairs has what you need. “We’re the stocking dealers for Glock, Smith & Wesson and STI – and we also have a large selection of other manufacturers,” Troy said.

Also coming soon will be a new state-of-the-art gun range to team with the superb gun smithing which the store currently offers. “It’s going good on planning for the gun range,” Troy said. “The engineer is designing it now and we will break ground within a year. It will be in a Bastrop County, location to be determined, and then we will announce it.” The facility will feature modern targetry systems and “training equipment built to tactical standards, but available for all skill levels of consumer and commercial shooters.”

The range will have 25-yard pistol bays, and separate 100-yard rifle bays. “It will have state-of-the-art sound dampening with excellent air filtration and ventilation,” Troy added. The facility will also feature a limited number of “Founding” club memberships, which include access to a premier-member’s only country club-style lounge and separate shooting facilities.
