Local couple purchased the Grape Stomp item @ Children’s Advocacy/Family Crisis Center fund raiser last April

Kristi & Eric Nielsen were the highest bidders on a local grape stomping venture at Red Rock Vineyards this past April @ Lights, Camera, Texas, held at Spiderwood Studios benefiting The Children’s Advocacy & The Family Crisis Centers, serving Bastrop, Lee & Fayette Counties.

This past weekend the Nielson’s & 10 of their friends took advantage of their winning package and were picked up by a party bus, transported to Red Rock Vineyards, owned by Angela @ Sonny Rivera who donated their beautiful venue for a fun filled grape stomp and wine tasting event. The venue is nestled between vineyards & a large olive grove on 100+ acres just outside of Bastrop.

The guest: the Nielsen’s, Heather & Evan Moilan, J R & Laura Krcmar, Rachel Bracewell, Jamie McClanahan, Zia & Jason Lowe & Dave & Kimbra Quinn, along with Barbara & Mark Caldwell, who put the package together & made sure everything came together for a fun & memorable day, were in attendance.

Each team of two took turns stomping grapes for two minutes each. The juice was then strained & measured. The three couples collecting the most juice won. It was a very close contest, only 2 grams separated the winning places. The Nielsen’s came in 1st place, followed by The Quinn’s & The Moilan’s. After finishing the stomp, guest put their footprints on the back of souvenir t-shirts provided by the Vineyard. They were then treated to appetizers, provided by Jane Glenn of All’s Well Catering & wine tasting by the vineyard. The guests were treated to a tour of some of the vineyard & wedding/party facility.

Not only was a great time had by all who attended, but the money raised from this event helped children & families in our three county area. The CAC and the FCC depend on such fund raisers & the generosity of people in our community to continue their services.
